Gold Standard Baking

Founded in 1987, Gold Standard Baking has grown from a family-owned neighborhood bakery to a nationally distributed baked goods supplier. Along the way, we’ve exceeded our customers’ expectations by making this principle our way of life: Anything worth baking is worth baking right.

Gold Standard Baking was acquired by the Caparos family in 2002. Constantin Caparos, an enterprising baker, was the first to introduce European-style croissants to Chicago in 1974. While Constantin is still involved in the business, his knowledge and expertise helped pave the way for his sons, Yianny and George, to build the bakery into the national supplier it is today.

Constantin’s steadfast commitment to quality continues to inspire us every day. It’s a commitment you can taste in every product we create, from our flaky gourmet croissants to our signature breads and rolls.
